This is a two day workshop running from 12pm-4pm on May 9th and May 10th. No previous experience required Level up your campaigns and skills with Allen Voigt from the Bearded Company! This workshop will give you the tools to guide dynamic sessions with your players, and the skills to adapt and think on the spot when things go off course. By the end of this two day workshop, participants will have learned how to.

1. Make clearer, more playable character choices (NPCs and PCs) using improv tools.

2. Build scenes/campaign beats with Promise Progress Payoff.

3. Drive player momentum using better questions (and better listening).

4. Run combat as story (fluid, cinematic, consequence-forward) rather than a pause button.

5. Use safety tools to increase trust and deepen immersion/suspension of disbelief.
   

Instructor
Allen Voigt is a BFA Musical Theatre graduate from UMD and a longtime improviser who’s spent nearly a decade doing improvised roleplay onstage with The Bearded Company—everywhere from local theaters like Huge or Theater in the Round to major conventions like MagicCon. A Dungeons & Dragons player for three decades, Allen brings deep table experience as both a player and GM. Allen has spent many years utilizing practical improv skills—listening, commitment, character choices, and collaborative scene work—to make his tables more confident, creative, and fun
