What’s a jam?

An improv jam is a casual hangout for improvisers. We get together 1-2 times a month, break into small groups, warm up, and play! Afterward, people usually head out to hang a bit more.

Jams are for everyone, whether you're in a 101 class, have never done improv before, or have years of experience. It's a great place to try something new, let loose, meet people outside your class, and get a little stage time. No experience required. If you're nervous, bring a friend and sign up for the same team. Or just come watch!

Every jam is facilitated by VGI staff or a longtime community member, and starts with a boundary check-in so everyone can play safely together. You'll also play alongside your group leader, a great chance to share the stage with some very experienced improvisers.

Pricing: Free for current students. Everyone else, pay what you can (suggested $5–10) to help cover venue costs and keep VGI running.
